You will find below links to other websites which are very
useful and will provide you with lots of information about transplants and other
related topics.
If you know of a website that should be included, please let me
know and send the details. We are trying to include a
variety of sites of interest.
As the first link is to my personal website I am
responsible for the content. I was asked to put my own
link on the FHLTA website by other members of the committee, please do
not think I am vain.
Oh alright then - I am!
My site includes lots of transplant stuff but also
contains lots of self indulgent rubbish. Please treat most
of what you read with the contempt it deserves and your tongue firmly
in cheek.
This site gives details and statistics relating to the number of
transplants performed so far this year, the size of the waiting lists
and lots more detailed donor information.
My 'Life Story' has just been added to this website.
Why not tell them yours?
Heart Research have sponsored heart transplant
competitors at the European and The World Transplant Games.
They are celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2007.
For everyone involved with
transplantation, this site will provide a space to meet others, share
stories and experiences and to learn more about this amazing area of health.
We are also seeing a growing number of Health Care Professionals joining
participating and interacting with other members on the site.
The British Heart Foundation is a charity which promotes heart care
and helps fund heart research.
The Donor Bus Information is available from UK Transplant

and signs people up to the donor register.
Provides individual support for people going through all
types of organ transplant or mechanical heart implant. TSN also
offers non-medical advice, support and information for all those touched by
transplantation including patients, family, friends and carers.
The Hamsters were set up by heart recipients and over the
years have become our friendly rivals at Transplant Games.
Heart and Coeur
is an international association that provides reliable information, support services and resources to
families, to adults, to children with
congenital heart defects, and professionals.
We strive to be your most reliable source of congenital heart defects information.
The information provided on this site is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between a patient/site visitor and his/her existing physician.
Helen Miller is 38 years old and in 2003 was
diagnosed with COPD. She is currently on the waiting list at the
Freeman Hospital (Sept '08) waiting for a double lung transplant.
This is her story
I shall add more sites as I discover them.
If you know of a particularly good one that will be of benefit to our
readers, please let me know.
Links are provided to the above sites in
good faith, in the hope that they may be of help and or of interest to
you.
We are not therefore responsible for their
content and accuracy.
