The 2005 Snowdonia Marathon
Competing in one of the most gruelling events in the sporting calendar is definitely an unusual way to raise funds. Heart transplant recipient Susie Welsh's fiancé, Mark Wood, completed the Snowdonia marathon, which according to Runnnersworld magazine is billed as the toughest marathon in the UK. The race starts at Nant Peris (300ft) and then climbs to the top of the Llanberis Pass (1100ft). On to Beddgeleret (200ft) before climbing to 1200ft at Bwlch y Groes before the finish in Llanberis. 28 year old Mark from Guisborough in North Yorkshire ran the 2005 event to raise funds for the FHLTA. His donation of £305 is most welcome. Well done Mark and thank you! Despite a a difficult job with the spelling I managed to come through unscathed.
