Neil Wrightson, Transplant VAD Co-ordinator at the Freeman Hospital has been shortlisted for the BMJ Group Secondary Care Team of the Year award.

Now in its third year, the BMJ Group Awards are firmly established in the medical world as the awards for doctors, scientists, researchers and healthcare practitioners worldwide, which recognise individuals, organisations and initiatives that demonstrate outstanding and measurable contributions across the health care community.

This year has attracted over 650 entries from across the globe and thirteen leading doctors and scientists were chosen to champion each award.  The shortlist of three for each category has been decided by a prestigious panel of judges drawn from a wide range of international experts.

The Secondary Care Team of the Year award recognises hospital teams that demonstrate improved outcomes in patient care.

I am sure you will all join me in wishing Neil well with this and congratulate him on this wonderful achievement.
